From the mainframe to the job site

I started my career as a systems programmer on IBM mainframes. On a mainframe, the system simply has to work. The overnight jobs have to be right by morning, nothing reaches production until it has been tested and signed off, who can see what is decided on purpose, and every change leaves a record. Those habits never left me.

In 1998 I began providing IT services to businesses, and I have been doing it ever since: keeping their networks, servers, email and files running and secure. Working inside many different companies, I kept seeing the same thing.

The office has the computers, the shared drives, the handbook and the procedures. The people who do the actual work, the technicians and crews in the field, don't have a desk. They have a phone in a truck. When they need an answer, they call the office, and they wait. Or they guess.

Then AI got good at reading. Not at knowing everything, but at reading a company's own documents and answering a question about them in plain language. That was the missing piece. The answers were already written down. Now a technician could simply ask.

OpsPromptAI is what 38 years in IT taught me, built into one product. I built it for the companies I have worked alongside for decades, and for the technician who shouldn't have to wait on hold for an answer the company already wrote down.
